This photography class for beginners introduces the skills needed to master control of your 35mm single lens reflex (SLR) camera - film or digital - with step-by-step instruction. Students learn the fundamentals of photography, including how to operate their cameras on manual settings, how to best use automatic modes, changing shutter speeds to stop or blur motion, ISO, white balance, controlling focus, exposure, and using flash. Shooting assignments will be given and digital photos or slides will be reviewed using a projector in class. Students receive informative handouts and individual attention. INTERMEDIATE PHOTOGRAPHY #2656
This class is an opportunity for you to fine tune fundamental photo skills and learn how to use them to make photos with strong visual impact. The emphasis of the intermediate level photography class is photographic content and creativity. We’ll study photo composition and explore how camera angle, lens choice, filters, and basic photo techniques can improve your photographs. We’ll also study the images of master photographers to help develop an individual photo style or interest. For most versatility, students are encouraged to shoot with a 35mm (film or digital) single lens reflex (SLR) camera, but all are welcome! No darkroom work is involved in either level.
