Social Media / Marketing Associate / Graphic Designer / Store Merchandising

 

You work in graphic design but you probably paint or dabble in photography or video editing other artistic pursuits. You have a thirst for learning and love getting your hands dirty with an interesting project. The goal of the Social Media & Marketing Associate shall be to work directly with the Marketing Manager and support promotional campaigns. Our ideal candidate will work on a variety of marketing projects- from editing photos to graphic design and layout creation for our websites and printed materials, video editing, retail creative merchandise display and much more.

 

Projects including but not limited to:

Design and produce creative marketing materials for print, web, email, social and retail in-store display.

Overall logos, business collateral, brochures, mailers and website design, navigation, banner ads, HTML emails & ads, and landing pages etc.

Creating, designing landing pages & other web properties to achieve high conversion rates.

Maintaining a consistent brand identity across all collateral materials, website, e-mails, printed materials, social media.

Create and update content, which would be posted on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, You Tube, Pinterest, etc.

Affiliate marketing and affiliate account management.

Develop ideas for social media promotions and engagement tactics.

Ad-words pay-per-click campaigns, and organic SEO, SEM and keyword strategies.

Collaborate with Marketing team on SEO, SEM and on-line / off-line advertising initiatives designed to drive web traffic.

Research and engage with on-line communities to promote branding.

On-line research of competitive data related to price info, sales promotions, etc.

Hands-on involvement with the quality end-result of project work.

 

Photography related projects including but not limited to:

Retouch photos products pictures for all website merchandise.

Work with product images and photography and maintain standards for fonts and colors within the context of the brand.

Photographic digital imaging file preparation, conversion, resizing, web optimizing and product template design and implementation.

Design templates for DVD jackets, custom personalized designer templates to be used within web offered photo lab products.

Add/Edit/Customize custom web templates of personalized photo products offered from our partners over the Internet.

Create photographic index - catalogs of customers personalized photos within the photo lab department.

Create custom photographic personal calendars, photo books and more via our on-site custom software.

Create customer photographic pop-art, painted on canvas, photo collages and limited photo restoration via our on-site software.

Track performance of specific campaigns.

Help promote events through social networking avenues.

Research emerging social media trends, tools and changes.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prioritize each day to efficiently and cost-effectively schedule the work-flow.

Determine the best output method based on the customer???s need.

Read and interpret a Work Order, according to written instructions.

Work with co-workers and customers with file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, on-line proofs, etc.

Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy.

Prepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts, and copy for print reproduction according to instructions of client or supervisor.

Allocate appropriate amount of time to each work order.

Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to the printer. Ensure correct material is used for all jobs and output device settings are accurate.

Image Sourcing: locate photos, understand copyright laws and release/usage requirements, knowledge of resources to buy stock images.

Work with service bureaus to create output beyond store capability, and understand resolution options and optimal enlargement specifications from image vendors and image originals.

Provide proofs as necessary for customer approval.

Perform daily/weekly computer back-ups; archive files as necessary.

Maintain all equipment including but not limited to; computers, plotters and printers.

Maintain accurate electronic and paper record of File Storage and Disks.

Minimize waste by efficiently utilizing appropriate inventory.

Communicate with other employees and customers: Sales/Service members on job requirements, timing, and special needs; Customers and outside vendors on file conversion needs.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Provide production assistance as requested.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

 

PLUS Qualifications:

Experience with Constant Contact (email newsletter marketing), email list maintenance

Google email tools cms etc. contacts management.

Knowledge of web analytics, preferably Google Analytics.

Practical knowledge of the design software (illustrator, photoshop, indesign, acrobat), PC based office environment HTML

Familiarity with DSLR photography

Experience in web coding is a plus.

Solid understanding of branding, marketing and advertising principles

Bachelors degree -- or degree in progress in graphic design or a related field from recognized university.

1-3 years experience required.

Strong knowledge of browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari, etc.), HTML and website/e-commerce maintenance

Solid copy writing skills (print & on-line)

Be an avid internet user. You must know how to write comments on blogs, use Google, Facebook, and other popular internet sites.

Has an interest in writing and internet marketing, email knowledge of CANSPAM laws.

Has knowledge and practical experience with Word Press and Web Design.

Able to write and communicate well in proper English and Spanish.

Proven initiative; you are able to work effectively in a team environment or individually and are successful at working in a fast paced with tight deadlines.

Has a clean, attractive, and engaging design style. Think clean + modern design.

Possess an out-of-the-box design style.

Understanding of design principles, typography, color and page layout, with a great attention to detail.

Background and experience in CSS, HTML, Flash, JavaScript and hand-coding skills preferred.

Background and experience in digital video editing for web (Final Cut Pro etc) would be awesome.

Background and experience in digital photography, studio-lighting, etc - would also be a huge plus.

Background and experience working with E-commerce platforms, CMS, wordpress, and various social media also a huge plus.

Position Available now for qualified photo lab technicians for both film and digital services.

 

Digital Photo Lab Technician

 

Qualified Applicant must have a minimum of 1+ year related experience.

(Not looking for photographers interested in temporary work.)

Candidates with recent schooling or vocational training of photography and photoshop technique may apply.

 

Applicant must demonstrate the following abilities:

Very detail oriented with high quality standards.

Able to start and complete each task in a timely manor.

Good communication, math, and verbal skills.

Self directed individual who can also work well with other associates.

Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.

 

Applicable Skills and knowledge required:

Commercial mini-lab equipment both film and digital equipment.

Personal Computer basics, Windows and or Apple.

Photoshop image corrections and size adjustments

Computer network file management and back-up

Color matching, visual corrections, adjustments of color, contrast, chromatic saturation, density, sharpness, and overall photographic image appearance.

Digital image file types, resolution, pixel count, file conversion and transformation skills.

Digital image file mathematics and general understand of dpi, ppi, lpi, etc.

Flat bed scanning techniques and file conversion.

PC knowledge of creating or burning CD and or DVD of digital photographic files.

 

General Responsibilities:

 

Digital / Film processing lab technician ??? Provide one-hour film or digital photo print services using state of the art Noritsu digital lab equipment. This consists of daily setup, operation, machine maintenance, and general cleaning of all lab machines. Processing C41 color film, E-6 slide handling and mounting, scanning film to prints, digital files, CD???s, DVDs, and large display prints.

 

Harvesting internet orders for prints from digital media. Requires use of Windows pc to manage multiple order per day, by adjusting color, density, crop, file resize, file re-naming, and file back-up thru mostly an automatic software program.

 

Customer assistance by phone support with digital file management and order tracking.

 

General Lab Tech duties ??? Perform standard photo lab back room operations such as but not limited to: handling and mixing of light photographic chemicals, trimming final print sizes and packaging, stocking supplies, manual pricing of completed orders and electronic job tracking by use of pc.

 

Photo Keepsakes Dept ??? Create photo books, photo albums, calendars, photo greeting cards, photo book markers, photo gift tags, and more in-lab from film or digital files. This includes printing digital imaging files, pdf files, and more from our double sided laser printer. Using book binding equipment to create photo books and calendars.

 

Prepare digital files for uploading to out-source services for creating special photo keepsakes items, such as photo art, coffee mugs, mouse pads, blankets, pillows, shirts, sports balls, photo plates, and more. Require file size adjustments and adding text messages to items. Quality control inspection after product arrives from the out-source service provider before the product is sold to the customer.

Ability to prioritize product highlights and benefits for sharing useful knowledge.

Past, Present and ongoing hands on photography experience and education a must.
